In a field of 4,7 Ha at Guyancourt (Yvelines), the idea was to compose a Campus linked to the automobile and the circulation. The client was composed in different entities corresponding each one in different kinds of transport: the car, the electric vehicle and industrial, motorcycle, etc.…) this project symbolized all sort of mobility, through his modernity it gives the possibility to the users to project themselves into the future.

The program proposed, rather than the preservation of the great existing building, the ancient ICFA constructed by Khanane, Rouvray and Brehier (5500m²) and rather the construction of 6 000 m² in new constructions, to conceive all kind of typologies of spaces: workshop (or studios), classrooms, laboratories and offices but also sport spaces, an extension of the restaurant and the spaces dedicated to the events.

iThe challenges where multiples. The matter was to bring coherence to the whole campus, very précised in the shape of the building as immaterial and intuitive in the functions. (customary formalities). They had to, in the other hand, to take in account that all those spaces where conceived to different actors linked to a common project: the young in bachelor formation, (Bac pro or BTS), the adults in ongoing training (from license to engineering), and a larger public intended to be welcome in the regular events (open doors …) This philosophy is translated in a federal architecture.

iThe parcel, divided in two axes, north and south, allowed to place in the east the young formation, (or the first formation, or the primary formation) and in the west the ongoing formation. The rehabilitated and restructured existing building linked the two ‘’worlds’’ whereas the classrooms and the restaurant invest the heart of the mutualized spaces.
All the identities related to the clients are synthesizes in this project, meanwhile a harmonic cohabitation between the users and the program is reached. The gardens and the strolling zones are treated as generous public spaces and even the notion of movement it’s inscribed in the drawing of the urban campus, willing to be open on the city and welcoming the citizens with its porosity.
